Wollemi Pine Trees

"The Wollemi™ Pine is one of the world's oldest and rarest plants dating back to the time of the dinosaurs. With less than 100 adult trees known to exist in the wild, the Wollemi™ Pine is now the focus of extensive research to safeguard its survival. Assist in the conservation effort by growing your own Wollemi™ Pine and becoming part of one of the most dramatic comebacks in natural history." (wollemi pine website)

This year the Thin Green Line is selling Wollemi Pine's as Christmas trees. After Christmas they can be planted and help to conserve an Australian native that was on the brink of extinction.

This rare Australian pine was thought to be extinct until rediscovered a few years ago near the blue mountains.

They also make excellent gifts, and come beautifully presented in cardboard carrier with a certificate
of authenticity,  and how to care manual with a history of the pine.
Part of the profit goes back to the Australian Conservation.

They are very hardy trees that like low light conditions and can survive well in pots with very little water.

Horticultural experts believe that growing the Wollemi Pine in pots or in gardens and parks everywhere is one of the best forms of insurance against loss in the wild. As royalties from Wollemi Pine sales will fund ongoing conservation research, buying a Pine will not only help to protect the species but will also safeguard its continued survival.

Dead or dying trees inside a home give off carbon dioxide and plastic trees are normally made from petrochemicals and use a lot of natural resorces to manufacture and usually end up in landfill (however are ok if re-used year after year) and disposed of consciously.

So, this year please consider buying a Wollemi Pine and help to preserve this wonderful species for future generations and have a healthier home environment this Christmas.

with love

The Thin Green Line team
